Virtual activities for children as a new benefit in the labour market

15.04.2020

During the pandemic, when the situation forces people to stay at home and work remotely, it is truly difficult for employees to offer any non-wage facilities. So far, benefits that are attractive for employees such as Multisport card, fruit Thursdays, language courses or travel subsidies are now losing their meaning. A new service offered by KIDS&Co. kindergartens, is fully adapted to the current pandemic situation in Poland, has appeared on the market – Virtual Care Rooms prepared for pre-school children and students of grades 1-3.

The state of the epidemic in Poland has forced the employers to operate in a new way. According to the Government’s recommendation, the majority of companies that have such a possibility decided to work from home. As the situation is constantly prolonging, home office is a challenge for both employees and employers.

Both schools and kindergartens are closed now. KIDS&Co. the nationwide operator of bilingual kindergartens, meeting the expectations of employers and employees, has introduced a new solution to the market that is fully adapted to the current reality. These are so called Virtual Rooms.

– The offer is dedicated for corporate customers. Virtual Rooms are nothing more than lessons with our teachers who take care of employees’ children for a certain period of time so that they can take care of their duties, and in this way the child keeps his or her daily routine. The only thing that an employee needs is a laptop, a tablet or a mobile phone connected to a smart TV. The child is able to see and hear the teachers in our facility on the screen and as the classes are fully interactive, the child can ask questions and feel the presence of the teacher. We have a refined and unique programme, arranged from thematic blocks and adjusted to the age of the group – explains Karina Trafna, founder of KIDS&Co.

There are 15 children of preschool age or classes 1-3 that can join one Virtual Room. Classes last from one to 4 hours and are run by two qualified and experienced teachers. Half of the teachers in KIDS&Co. kindergartens are English, so classes can also be conducted for groups of foreigners. The lessons are divided into different thematic blocks, individually adjusted to the age and preferences of each group, including physical activities such as karate, zumba or hip-hop, various types of art classes, and in older groups experiments – all without parents’ involvement. In total, there are 15 KIDS&Co. facilities in Poland, so the network is prepared to conduct many activities simultaneously.

Before the pandemic, KIDS&Co. clients were mainly SSC/BPO employers, large R&D centres or manufacturing companies. These companies were willing to subsidize the operator’s kindergarten fees for the children of their employees or decided to open their own kindergartens and nurseries by entrusting them to KIDS&Co. Since the kindergartens were closed, all of them have been taking advantage of the online classes offer. Currently, also new clients who are also interested in Virtual Rooms and want to offer their employees an unusual and very helpful benefit get in touch with KIDS&Co.
