In 2026, the City of Cracow will continue providing subsidies for children under the care of nurseries, children’s clubs, and day carers.
The subsidy is available exclusively for children residing in Cracow who are under the care of a nursery, children’s club, or day carer. Until 31 August 2026, it amounts to PLN 2.90 per hour of childcare (subsidy applies to children covered by valid agreements between parents/legal guardians and care institutions).
The purpose of this funding is to reduce the fees paid by parents/legal guardians for childcare services. As per agreements with the City of Kraków, institutions receiving the subsidy are required to lower or refund part of the monthly fees (tuition) to parents/legal guardians. The reduction or refund cannot be less than the subsidy amount received from the City in a given month.
The subsidy will be granted for 12 months, from 1 January to 31 December 2026.
The subsidy is calculated using the following formula: number of childcare hours provided in a given month × PLN 2.90
The monthly subsidy for one child under 3 years old in care averages PLN 600. For children with a disability certificate, the additional subsidy can reach PLN 1,260, assuming 21 working days per month and a contract covering 10 hours of care daily.
For questions or concerns about subsidies for children under the age of 3, please contact Social Policy and Health Department, Nursery Affairs Unit, Cracow City Hall — phone: 12 616-50-58.
Remember, with the City of Cracow subsidy and the ACTIVE IN THE NURSERY programme, you can receive up to PLN 2,100 in subsidies for a KIDS&Co. nursery.
