Education in a nursery

Education of children is important from the first months of their life. The right nursery can open the way to prestigious schools in the future, which is – it is an opportunity for a better and brighter future for our children. But the question is: what do 18-month-old and older children can learn?

In KIDS&Co. we appreciate how the brain of a toddler works and functions, which already at the nursery stage absorbs all the surrounding reality like a sponge. In our educational program, we try to focus on how the child will react to different situations in the future, process information, communicate, learn, and even what relationships he will enter with other people in the future.

To achieve all this, first, you need to take care of the comfort and well-being of the child, so that he feels safe and comfortable. How do we achieve this?

• We make sure that every child finds the right space for themselves.
• In most of our institutions, we have large, bright, and most importantly spacious rooms where children play, learn, eat, and relax. All rooms have age-appropriate equipment and toys, which can be used throughout the day.
• We have an individual approach to each child. A very important aspect is providing children with a sense of security and daily routine. We are helped in this by a framework schedule specially adapted to the needs and capabilities of a small child, which we familiarize parents with before the first day of the child’s stay in the nursery. Educational and caring influences must be unified in the home and nursery environments.
• In the KIDS&Co. nurseries one of the most important principles is non-violent communication – we focus on teaching empathy to these young people.😊
• We know how important it is to spend a lot of time supporting the development of speech in the nursery age, so that in the future children have as few problems as possible, eg. with communication.
• Caregivers and educators, based on their observations, create an individual portfolio for each toddler, which is later discussed with the parents of the child.
• All activities are fully adapted to the age and needs of children. Gymnastic exercise, dancing, singing, or artwork – all these children perform as they want and can, without stress and racing who is better and faster.😊

In KIDS&Co. when developing an educational plan, especially for nursery groups, we take seriously the fact that human development is whole. It is not, and certainly should not be, artificially divided into different disciplines. Each new feature and skill is usually based on previously formed ones, so the more skills our child acquires, the easier it will be for him to learn more. Arranging children’s time at KIDS&Co. we make every effort to ensure that the activities of the little ones are as varied as possible and that they interpenetrate with each other.

This approach to the matter provides the right basis for training the competencies of the future, such as the ability to build relationships, solve problems, or the ability to function in a culturally diverse environment.

In our nurseries, we also emphasize the use of some elements of so-called the Dalton plan, the method which assumes individualization of the learning process and the implementation of various tasks depending on the age and capabilities of the child.

In the nursery and kindergarten KIDS&Co. the flagship point in education is the formation of natural bilingualism. Each group has two caregivers. The presence of a Polish-speaking tutor increases the comfort and sense of security of the child, while an English-speaking teacher helps the little ones to “immerse” themselves in a foreign-speaking environment (linguistic immersion).

We understand that children cannot yet name the emotions they are experiencing at nursery age. That is why we have created a program that provides for the systematic arrangement of proven activities, thanks to which children can explore the colorful world of emotions in a controlled way.
