Praise your children wisely

Thoughts about praising children vary – some people are strong supporters of frequently motivating children, while others argue that praise should be given carefully, as it may lead to the upbringing of a narcissist.

For children, the most important thing is the time spent with their parents. You should talk to your little ones about their success and achievements. Ask what they think, how they feel, share their joy, and give them positive attention. Thanks to this, the toddler will feel that the parent is trustworthy. Another important thing is to constantly reassure the child about his unconditional love – the child must feel that the parent loves them always not only when he or she succeeds or behaves a certain way following the parents’ expectations. The approach of the preschool staff is also extremely important. It is in the facility that the child learns to a large extent his own emotions, as well as relations with peers. While playing with other children, extra curriculum activities, or talking to the teacher, a toddler often experiences new situations that build up his personality.

We are perfectly aware that many good attitudes of a toddler are strengthened in kindergarten. Our task is to show children that not only success is praiseworthy  It is also necessary to praise the children for the willingness to take action so that the child knows that the contribution of work is as important as the effect achieved. It is also important that the toddler associates praise with satisfaction from their actions, and not with praise.
